ILLUSTRATIONS
- All the custom illustrations in the blog: Beellie the bee, the game rank badges, the classification board and the avatar picture in the about page were made from scratch by me.
- I create all my illustrations with Procreate App and Clip Studio Paint.
- The website background is from an stock illustration I found on Magnific (previously named Freepik), then I modified it by painting over it. Here’s the original.
ICONS
- The icons for the sidebar navigation are from Iconify. More exactly from the packs Stickies color icons, Ultimate color icons and Pixel free icons by Streamline and IconPark by ByteDance
- Icons for the about page and tools page sections are from Flaticon
CODING
- I learned the basics of html and css from the tutorials at 3WSchools. GeekforGeeks is useful too.
- At the start I used Visual Studio Code to write the code and create all the files I needed. Now I use Phoenix Code (the free version), previously named Brackets.
- For the basic structure of the site I used Zonelets starter files and their modification Tagged Zonelets from this post by 3Legged to include tags in the posts.
- The reading progress bar you see on top of the page when you scroll I got from here:
- To add a sidebar and other pieces of code like the website title to all pages, I followed the method described here:
UTILITIES
- I used Raindrop.io to keep track of all the new interesting links I found while I was making the website.
